Community Investment

Impacting the lives of others

Our Giving Philosophy

We're guided by core values that shape the way we conduct our business. These include a commitment to helping others and building strong communities.

As a company, we echo our founder’s model of giving back. By founding and endowing the Stowers Institute for Medical Research, Jim and Virginia Stowers instilled a drive that impacts all employees to give their time, talents and financial support.

The American Century Investments Foundation

The American Century Investments Foundation, established in 2000, is overseen by a board of directors that establishes guidelines and priorities and makes all grant decisions. A portion of the Foundation's grants are awarded through the Dollars for Donors program, and a portion through a twice-yearly application process.

In 2020, through these programs, the Foundation granted almost $2 million to nonprofit organizations in the communities where employees live and work.

To determine if an organization qualifies for a matching gift, contact the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation at (816) 627-3468, or email grants@growyourgiving.org . If we make our clients successful, then we, in turn, will be successful.
